What We Did

Project Overview

This walled Victorian garden was quite overgrown and neglected. We carefully sorted and cleaned all of the old materials which were on the site and, adding appropriate new brick and stone designed and built a terraced garden to complement the setting.

A substantial oak pergola runs along one side of the garden which will be covered with wisteria and leads up to a vegetable garden.

Reclaimed stone

Japanese themed garden

A large circular pond forms the centre of what will be a Japanese themed part of the garden with Japanese maples and bamboos; and a tufa rockery was built using stone reclaimed from the site.

Indoor-outdoor spaces

Linking the garden to the house

A beautiful period greenhouse adds a lovely architectural detail, and a sunken eating/entertaining area links the garden to the house.
