What We Did
Project Overview
This substantial stone built bungalow, which was constructed in the 1960s, was in need of a thorough update and refurbishment.
We redesigned the inside spaces to open up a large kitchen/living area, and reconfigured the two wings to create a large master suite at one end and guest accommodation and study space at the other. The integral garage was integrated into the house layout, and a new timber detached garage built alongside.
To give the outside a more contemporary appearance, we extended all of the windows up to the soffit level and used the Velfac timber and aluminium composite windows, which give a slightly Scandinavian feel.
We used an aluminium fascia, soffit and gutter system to give a sleek and low maintenance finish. Glass bays were added to the back to give impressive views over the landscape beyond. The inside was finished with lightly waxed oak doors and skirtings to complement the natural pine internal window frames.
