What We Did
Project Overview
With the main living accommodation on the first floor, a generous balcony at this level was really important, so we replaced a smaller and tired balcony with something more generous and contemporary using Millboard decking and a glass balustrade.
Underneath was made watertight and much needed garden storage was created with slatted panels also used for the gates and screens.
The garden was originally set out in straight tiers with a narrow path to one side. We pushed the new walls back into the bank, recycling the existing walling stone on site and creating a more generous patio at the bottom with a wide path and steps leading to an upper sitting area with perimeter stone benches. The concentric circles make the space feel wider and deeper and look great when seen from the balcony above.
We retained the existing trees and replanted much of the existing plant materials with a few additions.
